I loved this entire outfit, from head to foot, then and I still love it. In fact, I'd wear it all myself today if I could! Well, everything but the heels which are too high for my poor feet.
I can't imagine listening to Harry speak more than one or two sentences. You're a stronger person than I!
Vintage Kate! It’s a very coordinated outfit, which I don’t mind, but all that grey worn in early spring is a little drab. The silhouette is lovely. I’m in a love/hate relationship with the lace over the check pattern beneath, but I adore the hat!
I loved the outfit and with all the accessories, however, I think an updo for her hair might’ve made the outfit look a little less busy. Even still, I think she looked beautiful
I love the coat dress and the shoes but I hate that hat. I’ve never been a fan of the wider brim hats because they look so old fashioned and age her quite a bit in my opinion.
I loved this look at the time and still do. I like Kate in a brimmed hat and the softer colour really suits her. The lace pattern also gives a softer, more feminine look. I like it much better than the hard royal blue outfit she wore recently and seemed so fond of as she repeated it a few times.
If I am correct that Harry read Spare for the audiobook, I predict that within moments of hearing his voice, you will decide you....just can't. I know I wouldn't be able to bear it! As for this ensemble of Kate's, I loved it then and I love it now. I prefer large brimmed hats that are turned back a bit, as this one is -- unlike a video I saw yesterday of Queen Mary (Denmark) trying to kiss various members of the family from under her down-turned brim, which resulted in a lot of air kisses.
Love this look even more now than I did originally. Elegant & likely warm. I imagine long church services in old buildings are quite cold! And yes, I listened to Spare. I enjoy audiobooks when the author reads them. Buckle up! LOL.
I loved it too! Beautiful color and style, the hat was lovely! She should wear that style more often. I remember it was panned by many, but I really liked it.
I loved this length coat and the sleekness of the outfit--that was part of what I liked about it then and now. Hope she goes back to the length and sleek looks at some point.
I never really cared for the lace on the outfit, so I don't have much to comment on, however, I listened to Spare from start to finish. Full of delusional complaints and accusations. Parts of it were downright cruel. Most of it left me questioning how anyone could be so self-absorbed.
Oh, my, what a beautiful outfit!! These fashion forays into the past help to reset one's ideas of the perfect Kate outfit. I loved this at the time but I appreciate it more now because the length, scale and fit feel so ideal. Also, I appreciate the gray matching of the dress coat, hat and shoes very much. I adore Kate but some of choices in her modern brighter wardrobe don't work for me and I feel like she is cosplaying the Queen now that she is gone and the Queen did not dress in those colors when she was Kate's age. Also, often those vibrant blues and reds don't match closely enough for me between the hat, dress and shoes. And, as you have said, I prefer these dresses to her corporate pantsuits. Fascinating look back. Thank you. Re: Spare. No stomach for it.
Not my favorite but I liked it from the back, loved the hat and the accessories.
Great write up, Jane! Maybe I should start the audiobook as well, I never finished Spare either 😕.
I did not even buy it! And knowing today that H might have « embellished » everything for selling purposes disgusts me! A despicable person !

I was thinking the same thing!
Oh Jane I really admire your commitment wading thru Spare thanks for sparing us the trouble
Loved this beautiful grey ensemble. Agree with you on the shoes.
