Kate at a state dinner is one of my favorite Kate moments so it is a bit crushing for her to have to miss this year but certainly understandable. I just love the gown/tiara moments SO MUCH!! But, this reminder of the Emma Bridgewater visit is a happy one. Love, love, love that pottery and treated myself to a personalized EB mug for my morning tea a few years ago. Thanks for the memory, Jane, and happy for you that your Christmas shopping is giving you joy.
I loved this engagement. Hard to believe it's almost 10 years ago. Speaking of Black Friday, I think it was a Boxing Day sale about 15 years ago or so where I bought a lot of Emma Bridgewater mugs -- I can't recall if they were seconds on not -- at a fantastic price, even with the shipping to Canada. I smile every time I use them.

The event was perfect for Kate - a positive association with one of her patronages, a chance to promote a successful UK business, and an opportunity to display her creative side. I agree with Diane about how beautiful Kate looked during her pregnancies (despite suffering from hyperemesis gravidarium each time). I hope there will be more events like this next year. Just today as I saw the notification for your post (which is my Monday evening pleasure) I couldn't help but think, that I really hope she gets this week attention without any "breaking: new photos from H&M" stuff. That she gets to shine tomorrow and at her concert. After this year she and her concert especially really deserves to just shine and be happy and not interfered.

What a lovely memory! I love Emma Bridgewater pottery and have one of her tea sets as well as a couple of mugs done for QE2's 70th Jubilee.
I do wish we could see Kate in a tiara at the banquet but I'll be happy to see her at all. It's going to be a good week for Kate watchers.
