This is a bit of a worry. They may have been trying to set him up for his Italy trip and it backfired possibly?

I’m in the same boat as you Jane, I’m thinking “Oo he’ll be fine” but also the extremely long treatment has me curious/worried.

I heartily agree with your thoughts. People who are hospitalized because of cancer are not doing so because a little cough. However, issues arise with ports and infections can happen so maybe it’s something like that?

I have wondered, esp after the announcement that his treatment would continue through this year, if he has the kind of cancer considered "treatable" vs "curable", where the progression can be slowed and/or symptoms managed. But then perhaps it's as simple as some dizziness, and they are being extra cautious with the Italy trip coming up. I think if Charles is able to resume his schedule and proceed with the trip, it will be less of a worry.

Thank you for the write up, I usually follow for Kate and William but the Kings cancer is big news. I just looked at new pictures of King Charles and he looks to have aged a lot in the past year or two. I almost thought he was prince Philip in the later years, although he also resembles Queen Elizabeth. I think unfortunately even if his cancer is less aggressive, he is 76 years old and has cancer. Just because his parents had longevity I don't know that he will have that too. I do think he will push through as long as he can, even to just help his beloved daughter in law while she recovers. Such a tough couple years for the Royals!

It is worrisome. I wish we knew what kind of cancer he has, although there’s nothing wrong with the Palace keeping it under wraps. Is he likely to go into remission eventually and be cancer free? Will he be on a pill for life like you say some of your parents’ friends are? Is it aggressive and scary or slow growing and perfectly treatable? There are so many unknowns. I hope he’s cancer free soon.

I'd be alarmed more had it been for more than a couple of hours. I'll be surprised if he's not back to his usual schedule by Monday.

I find myself thinking about his longevity versus his mother'/father's versus his son's. I remain hopeful, but boy, this is alarming.

Prayers for the King. We all know William wouldn’t want to come to the throne early

Not to downplay it-as we don't know what type or staging his cancer is but, it could have just been something as simple as dehydration. As a Stage IV Breast Cancer survivor (14 years!) I've just started a new set of chemo pills that have me in the bathroom - a lot. It's a constant battle to stay hydrated while being on some of these meds (I'be been on everything under the sun- believe me). I've been hospitalized with dehydration once and learned my lesson for sure! He could have just needed fluids. Sometimes, I do wish they would just say what it is (it would def cut down on speculation) however, as a patient I do understand the desire to remain private about details - I'm an open book but I get why the Royal family want to keep some things to themselves. I wish him the best and it's a great sign he only spent a short while there.
