William and Kate at Windsor Food Bank
The Princess paired a previous Hobbs coat and sweater combo with wide-leg Jigsaw trousers.
William and Kate were out on another joint engagement today. The couple made a visit to a local food bank in Windsor. It is a timely visit as the cost of living has skyrocketed in Britain (and the West) in the last year.
William and Kate sorted through food checking for the “use by” date as well as packing up boxes of food for delivery. Apparently, this food bank’s work has increased by 18% since the cost of living started to soar, so I am sure the directors were thrilled by the spotlight the Waleses placed on their outreach today.
The Princess of Wales pulled her Hobbs “Tilda” coat from her closet and paired it with the “Lara” merino wool sweater top in granite pink (also from Hobbs) and her Jigsaw navy trousers. She completed the look with her Orelia Chain Hoops and her “Josie” block heels from Emmy London.
I liked that Kate chose such a cheerful color for this work trip. This is a beautiful pink color on her, and it added a needed jolt of energy on this overcast day.
I think I prefer the first wear of this sweater/coat combo back in 2021 (pictured above) when Kate paired it with slim-fit trousers, but she has been rocking the wider leg recently, and I don’t mind it. The one thing I will say is that after almost a decade, I am finally joining those of you who really don’t like Kate’s penchant for clunky belts. They never bothered me before with her various coat-dresses, but I find them too heavy when paired with trousers in these separates ensembles.
It is hard to believe we are almost at the end January already. Next week should be a blockbuster for Kate as she launches her new Early Years initiative. Stay tuned…
