Sophie's bun looks great! It's somehow loose and yet not a mess.. Chef's kiss

I’m still waiting to see Mike wearing one of Zara’s hats ☺️

I’m really happy that William has a brother-like relationship (sans all the angst) with Mike. I’m sure he needs it these days.

Ascot was big win for me - it was so great to see all the happy interactions and beautiful outfits.

I love Mama Middleton and her beautiful dress ... but she needs better undergarments. Her girls need better support.

It would great to have one blog where we aren’t critiquing other women’s bodies and I wish Jane would delete this comment.

Maybe I was just seeing things but it seemed like there was a lightness between the cousins that wouldn’t be there if Kate was still seriously ill. On Day 2, Zara gave William a big hug and seemed to ask, Are you Ok? And he seemed to reply, Yes! I’ll take that as a really good sign. Also, lots and lots of big smiles and laughing like they’ve all taken a big exhale. Long time BRF followers have heard a lot about the dysfunctional Windsors but I feel like this generation provides some good and strong support for each other. Great to see Carol and Mike so comfortable with the cousins, too! GREAT outfits all around with the King and William’s waistcoats and the women’s’ gorgeous floral dresses being perfection.

Very well summed up! Absolutely agree.

You Took the words right out of my mouth! Middleton being there was kind of assigned for me that everything’s kind of on cruise control and on the up and up.

Love Sophie's dress

I am utterly convinced that these pictures must hurt Harry: all are hugging, smiling, laughing and shouting, all obviously at ease with one another... not exactly the atmosphere that the name Montecito conjures up, IMO!

Zara is so, so stunning. Great write-up.

I have enormous respect for Mike and Carole, and would expect Kate’s illness to have knocked them sideways. But I really thought they both looked like they had aged a lot since Christmas, especially Carole. She looked puffy and tired; I’ve never seen her look so “matronly”. Just another sign that it has been pretty tough sledding these past months. Glad to see them out with the family.

I think they have just naturally aged since they first came on the scene, they are 75 and 69. They look age appropriate without having any “work done”

The pictures show the family having fun at Ascot this year. It’s been difficult for a few of them so it was especially nice to see Gabriella Kingston there and William looks relaxed - I have a sense that the cousins were supporting each other. The very natural relationship between William and his in-laws is good to see as is the closeness between him and Mike. All the late Queen’s granddaughters seem to have married well with strong and supportive husbands who will be having an affect on changing the family vibe . They generally seem more relaxed and less high maintenance than poor Harry who could have been exhausting company.

I loved the fashion. Zara and Beatrice have both upped their game completely and I’m enjoying seeing their outfits - both looked properly stylish. I also loved Sophie’s white dress, possibly a little bit long but on the whole, it’s fab.
