I prefer a pop of color but the dress WAS simple, sleek and a win!

I remember this look! Her makeup was so light and pretty, such glowy skin. I’m glad Kate has retired this heavy eyeliner but wish she would go back to the light dewy face. Or maybe she was just tan?

I think she was really into spray tans around her wedding, she had a golden glow for a while until she got pregnant with George.

I love this simple yet elegant dress. The structural details really elevate it. I think she could wear this today. It doesn't seem dated at all. There are some elements of her style from this period that I'm glad to see go. I always hated those LK Bennet pumps. She wore them way too often and they were so boring. An interesting shoe, or even an interesting color, would have done a lot to really take her looks to another level. I'm also glad that she has backed off the heavy eyeliner. It really looked too heavy and not sophisticated at all. Her makeup is much better now.

I have a question about the cross necklace she's wearing here. I know that she has worn it several times, including during a walkabout after QE2's death. That seems somewhat unusual to me since most of the women of the BRF rarely (never?) wear crosses. It makes me think that Kate might actually be religious. Does anyone know?

I would love to know if Kate is religious or not. I don't know if I am remembering correctly but years ago I could sworn that I read an article talking about Kate's cross necklace and how she turns to God during difficult times but I can't find anything about it online so maybe I am just remembering wrong. It's amazing that in this day and age Kate has managed to keep so much of herself private. When you really think about it we really don't know her at all or what her opinions are on most things.

I remember reading that she quietly got confirmed before her wedding, because she was not confirmed at the usual early teen age. Perhaps her parents were not active in a church during the years most Protestants are confirmed. I've noticed lately that many people in their 30s and 40s who grew up in their family churches and were baptized and confirmed at the usual ages are not doing the same with their children, and it's usually because they're spending the weekends in outdoor pursuits or childrens team sports. Makes me wonder how long the royals will still consider these sacramental rites of passage to be business as usual.

At the time, I had wondered if the cross necklace was a Confirmation gift from either Prince Charles or the Queen, both of whom are very religious. As a religious woman myself, I also wonder what will happen in the future with the younger royals. Prince William and Prince George will one day be Head of the Anglican Church. They very possibly keep their faith practices more private than we see. I hope that when the day comes, they will both accept this very important role with the devotion the Queen showed for the Church and her faith.

Kate was at her peak beauty here. Obviously she is still a very beautiful woman but her beauty in the early 2010s really take my breath away. This is my favorite fashion era of hers too.

I loved this style dress and length! I also remember she once answered the questions that white was her favorite color.

I adore this dress and wish she were still wearing ones like it. That type of structural seaming is elegant and timeless. If Kate doesn't want to emulate Anne and pull it out again decades after the first wearing, I hope it's preserved for Charlotte's future use.
