I still like the dress and I think Kate could wear it again, should she wish, though it would lead to rumours about a new pregnancy. The dress is a beautiful colour, it suits her and is in her “wheelhouse”, whereas others (like me) would look like I was going out in my nightie 😂 Pregnancy dressing is hard, especially if you aren’t feeling well, and I found my shape changed more frequently that I expected. Finding work appropriate clothes that weren’t too twee was difficult (my baby is 25 now). I hope everyone in your house is fully recovered very soon 🌸

Indeed! I would look like I were in my nightgown with that one, too! 😁 She’s tall and slim and can pull off almost anything.

I love that dress! I think with a few adjustments she could wear it today.

First of all, get well soon, Jane; you and the whole family!

As for Kate, I didn’t particularly like that dress: the bodice is great, the skirt not that much. Indeed pregnancy wear is tricky. Kate had a rather big belly (all her babies were big) and her breasts got naturally swollen but otherwise her silhouette remained rather petite. It must have been really tricky to fit clothes well. I liked the short dresses she used to wear while she was pregnant with George. Her slim legs were enviable during her pregnancies!

I’m not a huge fan of godets in different fabric and would have preferred it all lace, but otherwise, lovely. I agree about pregnancy fashion and even more post pregnancy. Whilst feeding my son, my normally small breasts were huge and I had no idea how to dress!

I hope you are all back to full power soon Jane!

I loved the dress then, didn't see it as a maternity fit (although it obviously was!) then and to the untrained eye, it doesn't look like maternity now. I think with some refitting it could easily be worn again now.

And a comment about Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) please. I thank the, now, Princess of Wales for shining the light on HG awareness.....As someone who had debilitating HG with both of my pregnancies, from before the pregnancy tests were even positive, I find it distressing when it is called morning sickness. It wasn't "just" morning sickness. It was morning, noon, afternoon, night and during the night out of control horrendous sickness. Despite the best efforts of my medical team, dehydration and weight loss were critical issues. A visit to, or stay in hospital, for an IV, vomiting management and mandatory rest isn't fun. Particularly with a toddler at home. But sometimes needed for the health of Mum and bub. I implore anyone using the phrase "morning sickness" to be aware that HG and morning sickness are two separate conditions.

It could be a rewear if the droopy scraggly bows were removed. Replace with something non-floppy that has color contrast and perhaps an understated print design.
