I’ve been praying for her and thinking about how much she must have been missing her children and her daily routines. I’m glad she’s home now at least.
Do you know if the children still have their nanny there?
There has been no mention of Nanny Theresa leaving their employ, but she is no longer a live-in nanny. But I am sure she was worth her weight in gold during this time.
Your perspective on this is just wonderful. I hadn't looked at it as Charles doing his beloved daughter-in-law a good turn but you are exactly right. How fortunate that he could do this kindness for her. My prayers are with Kate. I am so worried that the stress of dealing with the Sussexes and their betrayal has directly or indirectly contributed to this health crisis. I don't know how anyone who works so hard not to put a foot wrong could cope with the pettiness and meanness from that quarter.
While stress is never good for anybody’s health I don’t think it is fair to blame health issues - especially since we don’t actually know what the issue is - on somebody else. That is not a blame anybody should carry.
Very well said, and I completely agree with the coordination at all levels. I am very concerned for her health, but even as strong as Kate has presented herself, this is indeed a vulnerable moment that didn't need to be picked apart and analyzed ad nauseum. Wishing Kate the very best and a speedy recovery.
Lots has been said over the last couple of years about leaks and briefings. So I just want to commend Kate’s team. It has been 2 weeks and there has not been a whisper. No “sources close to the royal”, no “palace aides”, no friends speaking out. Not a peep out of anybody. Kate’s people has really closed ranks around her. It speaks to the close and loyal group of people Kate and William have surrounded themselves with both personally and professionally.
And a special mention to Natasha Archer and Chris Jackson. As Kate’s private secretary/personal assistant Natasha obviously knew that Kate was admitted to hospital and also when she was being discharged, but Chris sat quietly with the other photographers on the other side of the hospital waiting for Charles to leave.
I think the comments about leaks and briefings are what happens when the press doesn't know what is going on and speculation abounds. You are right to commend Kate's team and those close to her. To me, it speaks volumes about the kind of people that Kate and William must be like, to have such a loyal group shows that there is a mutual respect and trust, and that's important for anybody to have in life, both personally and professionally. I actually admire the way that this has been handled and did not know that Natasha Archer was still working for Kate, so it was heart warming to see her there to help Kate. Sometimes the people you work with can become lifetime friends that you know you can rely on when you need them.
The fact that there haven’t been any leaks also speaks to the seriousness of her health issue. It’s quite possible that the press has heard or been told that they wish to keep this private and any publication of her private medical information will be met with legal action.
Given the initial statement and how quiet the palaces have been about Kate’s condition, I think the public would be outraged by any paper that published details without KP’s approval.
This was just what I wished for. Nobody wants comments on their appearance - gaunt, swollen, fragile, whatever - when they leave hospital after an op. Bless the King, who, from statements that he will reduce his engagements for a while, is maybe feeling more unwell than he expected, for continuing to highlight the importance of prostate care and taking the headlines for Kate.
Shout out too for the Queen, who has visited daily since the King was admitted, waving happily to the cameras and providing pictures, whilst no doubt being a tower of strength for Charles and probably supporting Kate too.
I agree with your comments about Queen Camilla. Her visits and the fact that she went to accompany the King when he was discharged from hospital are totally new in royal protocol. Neither the late Queen nor Prince Philip were ever photographed when their "better half" was in the same situation. It shows that Queen Camilla is doing things her own way and without fanfare!
I’m not 100% sold on your position on Charles in covering Kate. But I am glad that she was able to get home peacefully and quietly to continue her recovery.
Poor Kate. I bet she's extremely thin considering how thin she was before all this. Any abdominal surgery would mess up your eating. The fact that an older royal provided the cover for the younger is difficult...
I'm delighted that Kate was able to slip away undetected, without having to get dressed up and smile for the cameras while perhaps not looking (or feeling) her best. I hope she was wearing her warmest and comfiest sweats, fluffiest slippers and no makeup. Unless of course she wanted to, since sometimes a bit of lipstick and mascara can lift our spirits. I do find the lengthy recovery period, combined with the complete news blackout on her condition, very concerning. I imagine that someday her condition will be made public but she's entitled to complete privacy for as long as she wants it.
I'm wondering if after she is fully recovered, will Kate speak about what the issue was, in order to bring awareness to whatever it is she is suffering from? The King's announcement about his own diagnosis has certainly resulted in an increased interest in information regarding prostate health. I applaud him for that but am all for Kate keeping her own health issues private, if that is what she wishes.
He looked great I thought. Hoping for the best for Kate. What a worry.

I believe it's Nanny Maria and there have been several reports that she has very much been part of the team during Kate's hospitalization.

Thank for this excellent article. I’m glad that the King and HRH are safely at home and wish them a speedy and complete recovery.
