I was struck with how polite Carlos was when approaching Kate. He stopped and made a very pronounced bow before shaking hands. It was really sweet. She looked absolutely beautiful, and I was so happy to see her.

It was extra nice to see Kate, Charlotte, and Pippa at Wimbledon. They looked fabulous and very supportive of each other. The interactions between Charlotte and Pippa make me believe they spend a great deal of time together. While Kate looked amazing, the color was great on her, the bodice of the dress was awkward. A redesign of the bodice would have been better than an added modesty panel.

I felt bad for Kate that as Carlos was walking away she tried to introduce Pippa and couldn't get his attention. I hope it didn't mar an otherwise perfect looking day

I noticed that. But how humble is she not to call him back?

Kate looked lovely and so did Pippa. As someone who has always enjoyed keeping up with Pippa, it is disappointing that we don't see her as often but she is clearly happy keeping a low profile and focusing on being a mom and wife. I haven't seen any fans criticizing Kate for attending Wimbledon but I knew the Sussex squad would be out in their numbers picking her apart and they did not disappoint. I can't imagine hating someone so much that you can't spare a second to have some compassion for them when they are battling cancer. Social media has really desensitized some people.

I hadn’t noticed the modesty panel, I just thought she looked amazing and, most importantly, happy and healthy. I have so much missed her.

Same! I hate that I know it's a modesty panel because now I can't unsee it 😅

I’m wondering if the modesty panel was done to cover up the port that she uses for chemo treatments.

As a non-tennis fan, will Charlotte USE the racket or put on the wall (like a baseball mitt from a game)?

We know that Charlotte plays tennis, so maybe she will use it.

I guess the racket is still too big for her!

I think Kate’s choice of the event to attend was perfect. To single out one from amongst her numerous charities would be invidious, sending messages she might not want to send. Although Wimbledon isn’t a state event, like Trooping the Colour was, it is a huge annual event in Britain, being televised live daily for two weeks on two national TV channels, and drawing many high profile foreign and celebrity visitors and tourists. If you’ve not been to Wimbledon, you can’t understand how it is a part of our national psyche. There is no doubt that, like Ascot, some of its lustre is the connection to royalty and we see daily roundups of who was there and what they wore. For Kate not to give out the Men’s trophy would have significantly diminished the lustre of the event and she would know that.

P.S. The dress was as sold, not a modification.

The image of this dress (Kate's purple dress), the Cecila Lilac Midi Dress, on the Safiyaa UK website, is shown without that modesty panel, which may be termed a modification or addition. It looks appropriate for a daytime, buttoned up event.

According to What Kate Wore, the dress is offered as the Princess wore it; I find the website too hard to deal with to confirm that.

My understanding is after Sunday they are offering two versions of the dress. The original with a V-neck and also the modified version that Kate wore.

How incredibly kind of Krejčíková to give Charlotte her winning Wimbledon racquet! As much as I love the royals I’d have been keeping that as a family heirloom if it were me.

What a treat it was to see Kate, Pippa and Charlotte! After such a long absence it was extra special and they each looked perfect for the occasion. I believe Pippa wore this dress to James Middleton’s wedding? It’s so pretty! Personally I’m delighted Alvarez won, good news all round

One thing that struck me was how Catherine was so good about introducing Charlotte to each and every person. That is such a lovely affirmation of her daughter's presence during a public and "grown-up" Royal outing. It really is an indication of how generous and thoughtful Catherine is even while doing her job. Loved seeing Pippa with them...she has always worn the cutest dresses!
