The Reason Harry and Meghan Are on Diverging Paths?
Last night, Meghan Markle made a rare public appearance. The former royal attended the L.A. Children’s Hospital Gala. Meghan was at the event without Harry. If you are not following closely, Harry flew from London (where he’d traveled to attend the WellChild Awards last Monday) to Lesotho in Africa. He spent at least two days there working on his Sentebale charity, as reported by Sentebale’s social media. I have heard a report he is now back in the States on a hiking trip with friends to celebrate his birthday, but I thought he’d already done that. I considered doing a deep dive to try and figure it out, but I quickly found out I don’t have the energy for a game of “where is Harry” this morning. If someone knows, fill us all in down in the comments! My assumption is he is back in the States.
Meghan attended the event with her friend Kelly McKee Zajfen (pictured above). Zajfen has been a good friend of Meghan’s for some years now. According to reports I have read, Zajfen’s husband is a friend of Meghan’s former husband Trevor, which is how the two women met. Zajfen co-founded a group called Alliance for Moms, “a community of philanthropists who support pregnant and parenting youth in LA’s foster care system,” so the two women have philanthropy as a shared interest. Zajfen’s son George died suddenly in 2022 at the age of 9, and Meghan has supported Zajfen in various charitable endeavors honoring him, too, including the George Zajfen charity tennis match Meghan attended in September.
Meghan was wearing the red Carolina Herrera she debuted at the Intrepid Museum’s Salute to Freedom Gala in New York City in 2021 (pictured below). Obviously, Meghan wore it without the overskirt for last night’s appearance. She paired the dress with her Aquazzura ‘So Nude’ 105 sandals.
The Daily Mail had a piece again suggesting there is trouble in paradise. As discussed in a recent post, when Harry and Meghan appear together, they seem happy. Their recent “tour” of Colombia did not have tense vibes to me. Harry seemed happy and in his zone with Meghan. That said, this barrage of separate engagements does not feel like a happy couple.
