Relaxed William and Kate Congratulate Team GB In Video From Their Summer Break in Norfolk
William has grown a beard and Kate has taken a break from Botox.
What a happy surprise on this Sunday afternoon. The Prince and Princess of Wales shared a video on their socials congratulating the Team GB Olympians as the Paris 2024 Olympics came to a close today.
A brick wall heavy with vines and roses in the background, the couple filmed their brief spot from their summer break in Norfolk. It is pretty clear the two are in vacation mode. I was so focused on Kate that it took me several views before I even noticed William’s beard!
This is not the first time we have seen William with facial hair, but it certainly has been a while. In 2008, William sported a full beard for a brief time. He was pictured with facial hair leaving Whiskey Mist after a night of partying with his girlfriend Kate Middleton, and again photographed on Christmas morning with the beard. There is also photographic evidence of his beard at the time from a shooting party as well as several sports games he participated in. So, he was pictured a number of times with it, but nevertheless, the beard was short-lived.
Lots of fans are wondering if William will keep the beard or be clean shaven once he emerges from his summer holiday. Beards are definitely very in right now and have been for some years. So it is possible he has finally caught the bug. He would not be the only royal to wear one either. King Felipe of Spain looks quite distinguished with a beard, and Prince Hussein of Jordan also likes a beard. Still, I suspect William will shave before his return to the spotlight. Time will tell!
Kate also looked delightfully casual. Comfortably dressed in one of her signature Breton tops, Kate’s hair was brushed straight—no bouncy blow out—the ends were looking a little washed out, and her grays were growing in just a little at her hair line. It was also evident the Princess ditched the botox for her summer break.
I actually found all this incredibly refreshing, and not in the “thank goodness she has her bad days, too,” kind of way.
