After the period of mourning for the Queen ended in late September, I thought we would see a lot of the Waleses in October. William and Kate did have a flurry of engagements that first week or so, but I forgot that Lambrook’s Half Term break stretched from October 14th through yesterday—the 31st.

In the last week, Kensington Palace press released that Kate is has become patron of Captain Preet Chandi’s goal to be the first woman to cross Antarctica solo, and that the Princess had a phone chat with Chandi. And then just this weekend, to mark Addiction Awareness Week, Kate released a video encouraging addicts to seek help. But otherwise, William and Kate were not publicly active, and certainly took the entirety of the school holiday off from public engagements.

The family could have been enjoying their country home in Norfolk, or they might have ventured farther afield.
