Meghan's Trip to the Farmer's Market on Wimbledon Weekend
A strange concession on Meghan's part.
At first I thought it was just coincidence. A significant date on the (then) Cambridges’ calendar would come around and Meghan Markle would make some announcement or be pictured somewhere doing something. Lots of you would message me privately on Instagram arguing it was a deliberate move on Meghan’s part. Honestly, it seemed just too crazy to me (this was before the Oprah interview gave us fresh insight into Harry and Meghan). I needed a long and consistent pattern to convince me Meghan’s appearances on significant royal days were not more than simple coincidences.
Well, as the years have ticked by, the pattern has become so consistent that I have finally admitted, as extraordinary as the claim seemed at first blush, that those of you who believed Meghan deliberately timed these outings were obviously right. As I noted in this post, the pattern is very, very clear at this point.
So I suppose that I shouldn’t have been shocked to scroll through my feed Saturday morning and see that Meghan had taken a stroll to the Montecito Farmers’ Market and the pictures were emerging just as Kate began a weekend of watching top tennis at Wimbledon . . . surrounded by fellow royals and Hollywood stars.
Even though the pattern is beyond question at this point, it remains such an odd strategy for Meghan. As one reader noted to me,
