Kate's Cancer Revelation
Kate's reaction, her healing process, and when we might see her again.
What an emotional 24 hours. Around midday in the United States, Kensington Palace released a 2-minute video message from the Princess of Wales, in which she revealed that after her abdominal surgery in January, she was diagnosed with a cancer. Obviously, the news sent shock waves around the globe.
From my Instagram last night:
Kate’s message made clear she did not know she had cancer when she underwent her surgery, so that press release in which the Palace said she did not have cancer was not a lie. She found out later, i.e., after the biopsies were complete. Evidently, the January surgery removed whatever was cancerous, and her team feels they got everything.
Her message also revealed she had to wait to recover from surgery before beginning preventative chemotherapy, which commenced, according to reports, in late February. The point of preventative chemo is to track down any cancer cells that may have silently spread to other parts of the body.
