Has Kate Been MIA This November?
If you feel like Kate has been absent this month, your aren't alone, but has she actually been off the radar?
A number of you on Instagram have been DMing me in the last week remarking that Kate seems strangely absent from the public scene of late. I was starting to have the same feeling, when she made an appearance on the 17th at the Ukrainian Community Center in London.
She was recycling the Max & Co. coat she had just worn to Scarborough at the start of this month, and she debuted a new dress from L.K. Bennett in deep navy with gold dots. Fans were thrilled to see her also carry her Jaeger clutch and wear her Annoushka pearl drops—both old favorites.
Despite this appearance, I still was trying to figure out if she has been scarcer than usual this month. I reviewed the archives—comparing her activity this year to 2021 and 2019—and she isn’t that off her regular November schedule.
In 2021, she was out and about six times excluding Remembrance Sunday and the Festival of Remembrance. There were a number of special events in 2021 that contributed to her engagement count. She attended COP26, which provided her two outings. 2021 was the 100th anniversary of the Royal Legion, so she did a video commemoration for that. And she and William were deputized by the late Queen to attend the Royal Variety in Her Majesty’s stead. She had only two “regular” charity events after that.
