Today is our first Bonus Post that looks at the fashion of another royal lady we don’t usually follow here at From Berkshire to Buckingham. Princess Madeleine of Sweden walked the red carpet on November 14th at the 25th anniversary gala of the World Childhood Foundation USA in New York City. This organization was founded by Queen Silvia, Madeleine’s mother, and it works to protect children from violence and sexual abuse.
Madeleine was wearing a dress from a brand that is very popular with the British royal ladies: Self Portrait. Kate has worn this label many times. Just two examples are the Self Portrait dress she wore to the premiere of a Street Cat Named Bob in 2016.
More recently, Kate wore Self Portrait to the National Portrait Gallery.
It’s a label that creates feminine dresses that are flattering but also tasteful/modest—a good blend for a royal lady.
Madeleine chose Oscar de la Renta earrings in a busy style Kate has also favored in the last several years. Madeleine has striking blue eyes, and this rich emerald green worked beautifully on her.
I like Madeleine a lot. I watched her wedding in 2013, and her little family is lovely. I enjoy casually following them. You will see a lot of her in this bonus series.
I am looking forward to these bonus posts, thank you!
I like madeleine! This dress is lovely. I would take 2 points off bc of the makeup which looks a tad too white.
